Littlest Pet Shop, Puppy named Zoe Bento Lunch

Standard

For my daughter’s second to last day of camp, I’ve made a Littlest Pet Shop theme featuring Zoe the puppy. This was a very simple lunch.

Bone shaped French toast with syrup to dip, vegetarian sausages, a hard boiled egg with Zoe on it, strawberries in the shape of flowers and cinnamon pita chips.

Drawing was done with food color markers.

Summer camp, day three, Disney’s Brave themed bento lunch

Standard

Tomorrow is the third day of camp and my daughter is too excited to return. While she sleeps, I’ve been making her lunch for tomorrow.

This bento theme is Disney’s Brave, featuring some symbols and friends from Princess Merida’s world.

Vegetarian turkey deli slice roll ups with a little color added, a dill pickle, bunny crackers under the Brave with baby bear tortilla chip, a hard boiled egg with Angus the horse, raspberries, and two cookies with a somewhat Celtic design drawn on and another small tortilla chip with Merida’s bow and arrow.

This one will be a fun surprise for my daughter as she loves Brave!

All drawings were done with food color markers.

Summer Camp day two, Camping and Woodland themed Bento Lunch

Standard

Tomorrow will be day two of camp for my daughter and so tonight I’ve created another cute bento lunch for her.

This theme is Summer Camp and Woodland animals.

The lunch includes two grilled cheese sandwiches (a bear sleeping in a tent), a hard boiled egg (owl with the moon), carrots and pretzels as a campfire, strawberries and miniature (vegetarian) s’mores!

The miniature s’mores I made using organic cinnamon crunch cereal, cut pieces of dandie’s vegetarian (no gelatin) marshmallows and organic chocolate chips.

The drawings were done with edible food color markers.

Summer ocean themed Bento lunch for camp

Standard

My daughter is off to camp again for this year and so time to make her some fun lunches.

For her first day of camp I’ve created an ocean theme bento.

It is vegetarian and has two peanut butter sandwiches (the seahorse and a seashell underneath), a krackjack (Indian) biscuit(the dolphin), hard boiled egg (octopus), cucumbers (cut like starfish), ranch dressing to dip and grapes.

I drew on the food items with edible color markers.

Finding Monster High Doll School Supplies

Standard

This coming school year is fast approaching and as any other parent preparing their child for school, I’ve come to the point where my daughter wishes for a certain type of “branded” school supply. Last year it was Barbie, before that Lisa Frank and now low and behold it is Monster High Dolls. Let me just say these were the hardest to track down. I went to all the box stores, Target (only had the lunchbox and possibly a backpack), couldn’t find any of the much needed folders, notebooks or pencil cases. It finally dawned on me to check out Toys R us and they came through! They had it all even though they are starting to run low now. Hard pencil cases have been outed this year and so we were lucky they made a soft one with the Monster High theme. I’ve seen the jacked up prices online for these things and I would say don’t pay that if you can make your way to a Toys R Us by any means!

My daughter is all set now and will be bringing her favorite Gouls to school everyday now.

What theme are your kids using if any? Are you done school shopping yet?

My First Try at a Bento Lunch for my Daughter’s first day at camp

Standard

This was my first try at making a bento lunch. Something fun for my daughter to eat at camp.

I used food color markers for all the color. It took a little time but well worth it.
